I am a travel writer currently working in Morelia, Mexico, while doing my best to raise my 2-year-old bi-culturally and getting to know my sweet, Made-in-Mexico #2. This blog is (supposed to be) about the culture and politics of family: mine, Mexican, American, and in general.

Yay! Keep ‘em coming!
Hey Molly,
Haven’t been much on the FB lately, just discovered your blog. Sounds like Mejico is treating you folks well. Glad to hear it.
Nice blog!
We would like to invite you out to visit the Bosque Village near Patzcuaro.
You can find us on facebook if you want to keep up to date on the project.
Hope to meet you and your family!
Hola!
I am an Australian mother of a 2 and a half year old- in Mexico!
My partner and I found your blog when googling Morelia and travelling with a child!
We want to see the butterflies- what do you think? How did you guys do it with your little boy- was it a big hike???-
I loved reading your blog-and I cant wait to try the Gaspachos in Morelia. We are fresh market junkies- we only have 3 months in Mexico but are already talking about the ‘hows’ and ‘whens’ of returning.
Warmth
Cyndy Ellis
Thanks for reading, Cyndy. It WAS a big hike. We went to both Sierra Chincua, which Lonely Planet said was only a few kilometers, but the colony had settled much lower on the mountain that year and it took us almost all day. At Cerro Pelon I rode up with the 2-year-old and my husband walked with the baby and that was much quicker (he’s more athletic than I am even when I haven’t just had a baby). Enjoy your time in Mexico. I miss it terribly and I envy you being there!
Hello, I love your blog! I wonder if you could post a call for writing. A colleague and I are editing a book of writing (essays, really) by adults whose parents were (or are) once incarcerated. I head about your blog from Creative Nonfiction. Thank you so much!! Writers can submit to us at cipstories@gmail.com
